Achievements

  • As on date, more than 100 environmental awareness programmes in relation to biodiversity conservation/restoration, soil conservation, water management, aqueous/solid waste management and impact of environmental pollution are conducted in Western Ghats of southern India
  • Green campus, environment, energy, waste management audits, hygiene, soil and water, and air quality audits were introduced and are being conducted in line with NAAC, NBA and other accreditations agencies and confirming ecofriendly and hygienic atmosphere to the stakeholders of Academic Institutions//Industries.
  • Based on the checklists of the National Building Code Part 11 Approach to sustainability along with the Government Law and Environmental Legislations and Central / State Pollution Control Boards, Academic Institutions and Industrial sectors are being assessed for their ISO certifications where NSF played key role.
  • A total of 13 well-trained Lead Auditors, 30 Technical Expects and 120 Sub Expects are appointed across India to conduct various types of audits who are certified by IGBC, GBCRS, GRIHA, BEE, LEED, CII-GreenCo, ASSOCHAM, FSRS, SBICM and ISO also Appointed.
  • Around 181 Academic Institutions and Industrial sectors in India and Abroad have been undertaken their green campus, environment, energy, hygiene, waste management, biomedical, plastic, e-waste, soil & water, Air quality and academic & administrative audits with NSF.
  • Equipment such as Carbon dioxide Analyzer, Oxygen Meter, Altitude GPS Meter, Lux / Light Meter, Noise Analyzer (Sound level Meter), Speedometer, Moisture Meter, pH Meter and Conductivity Meter, D.O. Meter and T.D.S. Meter, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), DWA (Digital water Analysis Kit), DCM (Digital Clamp Meter) and thermometer are available with NSF which are being used to monitor the related parameters in the audits.
  • International Eco Club student chapters are successfully launched at Unversity, Arts & Sciences and Engineering & Technology Institutions in which more than 15000 students and research scholars are involved in conducting awareness programmes for the noble cause of nature conservation and to disseminate the impact of environmental pollution.
  • On the whole, more than 15000 school, college and university students including staff members enrolled for their Provisional / Life membership with NSF to do social service for the development of the nation.
  • National and International events such as ‘World Environment Day, World Nature Conservation Day, National Science Day, World Cancer Awareness Day, World Wildlife Day, International Women’s Day, World Water Day, International Biological Diversity Celebration, International Yoga Day, World Ozone Day, World Nature Day, World Conservation Day, National Energy Conservation Day, etc., are conducted time to time for the benefit of the society thro’ awareness programmes organized by the students and staff members of International Eco Club Students chapter.
  • NSF Quarterly Newsletters and Magazines are released to interchange the information of impact of environmental pollution and nature conservation to the public.
  • Journals such as International Journal of Nature Science, International Journal of Computer Science and Management International, Journal of Social Science and Commerce are recently launched by NSF.
  • Five Books and two Audit Manuals with ISBN are published by reputed publishers in India, besides, five Book Chapters and nine Research and Review Articles are published in peer reviewed national and international journals as on today.
  • A partial financial assistance for innovative projects submitted by the students and research scholars and to conduct of conferences, seminars and workshops on environmental pollution and nature conservation are being offered.
  • More than 1000 meritorious candidates from University, Arts, Science, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Law, Management and Medical background are conferred as ‘Best Faculty / Scientist Award, Best Women Faculty / Scientist Award, Best School / College Student / Teacher Award, Best School / College Award, Young Scientist Award, Best Researcher Award, Best Social Worker Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and Fellow of NSF’ for their contribution in their field of specialization.
  • NSF is offering various certificate, value added, Green Skill Development, non-formal and lead auditor courses like ‘Green Campus, Energy and Environment Management Audits’, ‘Waste Management Audit’ and ‘Academic and ISO Audits’ to school and college students as well as members of faculty and staff course across the world.
  • Summer camp and hands-on-training on the production of vermicompost, biofertilizer, green / organic manure, gardening, mushroom cultivation, Spirulina / Azolla cultivation, Bonsai / bouquet making, instant health mix, malted millets, areca leaf plates, cups & bags, jute products making, masala powder / pickle preparation are regularly arranged particularly for the benefit of Tribal community.
  • A total of 22 Tribal children from Marudhamalai Tribal School and 13 Tribal children from Mannar Tribal village, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu have adapted by the NSF since 2018. The dress and stationary materials including school bags have been periodically supplied to the children to improve their education.
  • More than Fifty Academic institutions and five industries are signed ‘Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)’ with NSF to implement various schemes and projects on nature conservation and environmental protection and community service.
  • Miyawaki Rapid Afforestation at Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore and Government Arts and Science College , Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu in which economically important along with medicinal and herbal plants are conserved under in vivo
  • Faculty Programme on ‘Rural Immersion’ was conducted with a financial support from Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural education, Hyderabad for the benefit of rural and tribal people of Tamil Nadu.
